Show the world who you really are
Imagine seeing yourself for the first time, knowing nothing about the person you are inside.
Based on your visual appearance, what assumptions would you make?
Would you guess your age, your occupation?
Would you suspect the existence of your best attributes - maybe your whimsical sense of fun, your empathy, your reliability, or your knack of emergency first-aiding anything in the time it takes most people to get through stage 1 of a minor meltdown?
If your answer is no, I have to ask: Why not?!
And then: Would you like to change that?
Why appearance matters (whether you like it or not)
Humans are highly visual creatures. We trust what we see and directly experience much more than we trust what we're told.
More than 90% of the first impression you make on others is based on your physical presence - what you wear, your body language, and your tone of voice.
If people are distracted by the way you look, chances are they won't hear a word you say.
Sure, it sucks. But you know it's the truth.
